Nancy's Transformation

Nancy's Transformation Journey

Interview with Nancy

What inspired you to embark on your hormone and weight loss journey?
I've been a yo-yo dieter for years. I was inspired when I saw the results that a friend had achieved. I decided to try this approach to see if I could achieve the same results.

Can you share some of the biggest challenges you faced along the way?
I felt like my weight loss was slow to begin with. It really wasn't, but I felt very impatient to see immediate results. I also had some minor side effects (nausea, hair loss, and tiredness).

How did you stay motivated throughout your journey?
Some days were tough, but my daughter was on the journey with me. Her results were much faster than mine, so that kind of inspired me to stay the course.

What were some key changes you made to your diet and exercise routine?
I didn't want to be on a super restrictive plan, so basically I just cut way back. If I wanted a cookie, I ate a cookie. I did find that my taste buds changed somewhat. Some things were too sweet (cookies for example), so I couldn't eat them as much. I did not do much exercising to begin with. I have since started doing arm chair yoga and walking with my dogs, which I enjoy very much.

Did you encounter any setbacks, and if so, how did you overcome them?
For me, the most challenging was not seeing immediate results. I found that once I quit obsessing about that, things went much smoother.

How did semaglutide help you reach your goal?
I wasn't as hungry so I could eat much less.

How do you think hormone replacement helped you?
I feel so much better, but it's hard to say if that's because of weight loss or the hormone therapy. Overall I do believe the HRT has helped.

Were there any specific strategies or techniques that you found particularly effective in reaching your weight loss goals?
I didn't weigh myself every day. I found that this helped not to stress at fluctuations in weight.

How did you manage cravings and temptations during your journey?
I really didn't. If I wanted something, I ate it. The key was that it was much less than I normally would eat.

How has your life changed since achieving your weight loss goal?
I feel so much better.

What advice would you give to others who are on a similar journey to lose weight and get healthy?
Do it! You won't see results unless you start! Be sure you're doing this for you. Don't get discouraged if you don't see immediate results.
